Getting Started

How does Tucol work?

Tucol is for anyone who pays a shared bill upfront and needs to collect from others — a group phone plan, rent, utilities, or any recurring expense. You set up a group, enter the bill, and send each member a personal invoice link. Members open the link in any browser, see exactly what they owe, and pay you via Venmo. No app download required for members.

How do I set up my first group?

Tap the + button on the Home screen. You'll be guided through three steps: enter the service name (e.g. T-Mobile) and Tucol fetches the logo automatically; name the group, choose a billing frequency, and set the payment window; then add members by importing from Contacts or entering details manually.

Do my group members need to download Tucol?

No. Members receive a personal invoice link by SMS or email (Plus/Pro), or via iOS Messages and Mail (Free). They open the link in any browser — Safari, Chrome, anything — see their breakdown, and pay. No app, no account, no signup required.

Can I import contacts from my phone?

Yes. When adding members, tap Add from Contacts and grant Tucol access to your contacts. Names, phone numbers, and email addresses are imported automatically. You can edit any field before saving.

Sending Invoices

How do I send an invoice?

Open your group, tap Enter Bill, fill in the amounts, then tap Preview. Review each member's invoice, then tap Send All (or send individually). On Free, Tucol opens iOS Messages or Mail pre-filled for each member. On Plus/Pro, Tucol sends automatically via SMS and email.

Can I split costs equally or set custom amounts?

Both. In Bill Entry, use Equal Split to divide shared costs evenly across all members (with optional per-member adjustments), or switch to Custom Amounts to enter each member's amount directly. You can toggle between modes before saving.

Can I attach the original bill to the invoice?

Yes (Plus/Pro). In Bill Entry, tap the attachment icon to add up to 3 files — photos, PDFs, or screenshots of the original bill. Attachments appear on the member's invoice page so they can see the source bill for themselves.

What if a member doesn't have Venmo?

The Venmo pay button only appears on invoices when you've added your Venmo handle in Settings. Members who don't use Venmo can pay however works for them — cash, Zelle, bank transfer — and you mark them as paid manually in the app.

Can I resend an invoice to a member?

Yes. In the group detail view, swipe left on a member's row and tap Resend Invoice, or long-press for the context menu. This sends a fresh invoice link to that member.

Can I edit the bill after sending?

Yes, as long as no one has paid yet. Open the group, tap Edit Bill, make your changes, and tap Preview to re-send. Once a member has paid, their row locks to protect the settled amount.

How long does an invoice link stay active?

Invoice links expire after the due date window passes — 7 days past due on Free, 30 days on Plus/Pro. After expiry, members who open the link see an 'Invoice expired — contact your admin' message. You can resend a new invoice at any time.

Collecting Payments

How do I mark someone as paid?

In the group detail view, tap a member's row and confirm payment, or swipe left and tap Mark Paid. The progress bar updates immediately and the member's status turns green.

A member says they already paid — what do I do?

Members can tap 'I already paid' on their invoice page to flag themselves as pending confirmation. You'll receive an email notification (if enabled) and a Pending badge appears on their row in Tucol. Tap the badge to confirm (marks them paid) or reject (resets to unpaid) after you verify.

How do I turn off payment notification emails?

Go to Settings → Notifications and toggle off Email me when members pay. This applies to all future invoices you send.

Reminders & Follow-ups

How do I remind members who haven't paid?

Tap the bell icon on the Home screen to open the Reminders hub. It lists every unpaid member across all your groups. Tap Remind next to a member to resend their invoice, or tap Remind All to send to everyone at once.

How do automatic follow-up reminders work?

On Pro, you can enable automatic follow-ups when sending a bill. Tucol sends up to 3 reminder messages to unpaid members after the due date passes — spaced out automatically. You choose how many follow-ups to send (1, 2, or 3) in the send flow.

How do I set up due-date reminders for myself?

Go to Settings → Notifications and enable Notify me before bills are due. Choose how many days before the due date you want the reminder (1, 3, 5, or 7 days). Tucol schedules a local notification for each active group automatically.

Plans & Pricing

What's the difference between Free, Plus, and Pro?

Free — 2 groups, up to 5 members each. Send invoices manually via iOS Messages and Mail.

Plus ($9.99 one-time) — Up to 5 groups, up to 25 members each. Automated SMS & email delivery, due-date reminders, payment alerts.

Pro ($19.99 one-time) — Up to 15 groups, up to 50 members each. Everything in Plus, plus automatic follow-up reminders, bill attachments on invoices, and CSV export. Pay once — no subscription.

How do I upgrade to Plus or Pro?

Go to Settings → Upgrade Tucol, or tap the upgrade prompt when you hit a group or member limit. Select your plan and complete the purchase through Apple. Your access upgrades instantly.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Tucol → Settings → tap your tier badge at the top → Restore Purchase. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and restores automatically as long as you're signed into the same account.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find your Tucol purchase, and request a refund. Apple typically processes these within a few days.

Privacy & Data

Where is my data stored?

Your group data (members, bills, history) is stored privately in iCloud and syncs across your Apple devices. Invoice links are backed by a short-lived server record that expires automatically — Free invoices expire 7 days after the due date, Plus/Pro expire after 30 days. We never sell your data or show ads.

How do I export my data?

Pro users can export a CSV of all bill history. Go to Settings → App Data → Export CSV. The file includes group names, billing periods, member amounts, and payment status.

How do I delete my data?

To delete a group and all its history, swipe left on the group card and tap Delete. Server-side invoice records are deleted automatically when they expire. For any data removal requests email contact@manulcoo.com.

How do I stop SMS messages for a member?

In the group, tap the member's name and toggle off Text message consent. Future invoices to that member will use email only. Members can also reply STOP to any SMS they receive — they'll be opted out immediately.
